The Pottery Factory is on Highland St in a plain building with a big kiln in back. Inside: shelves of blank ceramics and 40 colors of glaze. You pick a piece, paint it, leave it, and pick it up a week later after firing.
It’s where kid birthdays, date nights, and bachelorette parties overlap without issue. A 6-year-old is painting a unicorn next to a 30-year-old painting a wine glass that says “Mommy’s Juice.” Nobody cares. The staff plays 90s pop and hands you more colors.
Prices are by the piece: $8 for a tile, $35 for a platter. Studio fee covers paint, tools, and firing. You can be bad at art. The kiln makes everything shiny and people love it anyway.
They do “Adult Night” Fridays: BYOB, 21+, no kids. It gets loose. The mugs say things you can’t mail. The staff has seen it all and will help you fix a mistake before it’s permanent.

Local Tip: Paint the bottom. Nobody does, and it’s the first thing you see when you pick it up. Put your name and the date. You’ll find it 10 years later and remember this day.
