Visitors do Mount Dora in 2 hours. Park, walk Donnelly, buy fudge, take a lighthouse selfie, leave. That’s the “two-hour tourist” and the town built an economy on them.
Locals don’t mind. But they know the real town starts when the tourists leave. 6pm, the shops close, the day-trippers hit 441, and the street gets quiet. That’s when porch music starts. That’s when restaurant tables open up. That’s when the golf carts come out for sunset.
